Junior Game Creators

As part of our Digital Creatives Club, young people that love tech and coding will have fun exploring coding and developing new gaming ideas. Filled with fascinating projects led by industry professionals Gamewagon.
Young people are constantly using technology today, but how many are learning to create it?. We task our Junior Game Creators with designing their own versions of games they love to play in Scratch, the programming software that is now part of the national computing curriculum. Everyone works towards a common goal, in teams, on challenges that will stretch their creativity in art, design, maths, problem solving, teamwork, and communication.
Junior Game Creators is suited for young people that want to explore coding to bring their creative genius to life with other like-minded young people.

As part of our Digital Creatives Club, young people that love tech and digital media will have fun exploring tech and developing new ideas for learning online. Filled with fascinating projects led by industry professionals Itza Media and video gaming experts Gamewagon.
Partnering with Itza Media and the Institute of Education at University College London, The Mentoring Lab gives our network of young people this once in a lifetime opportunity to get paid for contributing to tech and digital education research. Earning £15 a session, participants will help to create the prototype for a children’s independent educational learning online.
Digital Media Prototyping is suited for young people that want to explore careers in digital media, media production, and directing; bringing their creative genius to life with other like-minded young people.

This project is for young people that are always coming up with good ideas and would enjoy working on a creative project with others.

With a focus on editorial photography and journalism, Magazine Production will celebrate youth culture by producing a quarterly magazine.

Come on board and join a team working together to develop a magazine filled with fashion. You choose what’s in the magazine! So whether you’re int fast cars, the world’s coolest topics, pro footballer tips, magic tricks, the latest anime, Marvel or DC, bring your ideas and we will turn them into the most ‘LIT’ editorial that ever existed.

Getting on the career ladder is not as difficult as it seems, it just takes strategic planning and lots of action. Mentees will be giving time to reflect on their current situation, their skills, opportunities and areas for development, whilst designing a career pathway that suits their values and ambitions. At the end of the sessions mentees with being more confident, have a fantastic CV, cover letter and job options to help them launch and accelerate their career.

With over 15 years of experience in youth mentoring, we show you how to enhance your mentoring practice to ensure your support is fit for purpose. Not wanting you to take mentoring for granted we share our mentoring framework and how you can deliver safe, high impact and transformational relationships with young people. Working towards AQA Unit Award in the Key Principles of Mentoring and the Core Concepts and Techniques of Mentoring.

By designing a mentoring framework that is solutions-focused, trainees will reflect on their mentoring style and needs of the young people they serve. During this focused training session, new and experienced mentors will reflect, explore and practice tried and tested mentoring tools and techniques.

An 11-week online leadership project designed to unlock the potential of each young person. Mentored by a Tedx speaker you will explore different elements of world-class leadership and discover;

  • What makes a great leader
  • How to manage authority
  • How to communicate effectively
  • How to develop a world-changing idea to bring about powerful changes in your world.

You will also develop your public speaking techniques with TEDx Speaker Scott McCrum, who will give you the freedom to express yourself and develop your creative writing skills and verbal communication.

This series of online workshops are for all who want to be heard and be counted in life, and in a future career. You will;

  • Practice your public speaking and presentation skills
  • Develop a jaw-dropping, inspiring, or emotive speeches
  • learn essential techniques to deliver a speech with confidence.

Hosted by high-end retailer Oliver Bonas, this 11-week project will show creative young people how to turn their ideas into money-making products. With a budget of £50, you will explore how to; design, market and sell to a niche audience and get feedback from Oliver Bonas staff and founder.
