In this one-day Level 2 CPD, mentors will learn how to effectively support vulnerable adults and young people with mentoring and coaching approaches that promote independence, wellbeing, and personal growth while maintaining appropriate boundaries and safeguarding practices.

By the end of this training, mentors will be equipped with the skills, understanding and practical tools to build safe, empowering mentoring relationships with vulnerable adults that respect their autonomy while providing appropriate support.

 

  • TRAINING OUTLINE This workshop equips mentors with essential skills through guided practice, discussion, and interactive learning focused on:

    • Understanding vulnerability
    • Implementing safeguarding practices
    • Building trust while maintaining professional boundaries
    • Implementing person-centered goal-setting and support
    • Managing risk and handling disclosures
    • Understanding mentoring models and approaches
    • Working effectively with support networks and services

    Our trainers will provide you with space to reflect and explore these topics through interactive exercises, case studies, and group discussions.

    TRAINING OUTCOMES Trainees will increase their awareness of:

    • Safeguarding policies and vulnerability awareness
    • Professional boundaries and relationship management
