Quality Standards for Youth Mentoring Delivery

The Association of Youth Mentoring will ensure best practice, and give easy access to our quality standards framework. The Framework offers guidelines covering essential aspects of youth mentoring delivery, including safety protocols, boundary setting, and evaluating impact that align with international youth work standards.

Who is AoYM for?

Although Youth Mentors work across a range of sectors and settings, The Association of Youth Mentors will offer guidance, training and resources for the following student, new, experienced, employed 
or volunteer mentors.
Behaviour Mentors, working with students struggling with EBD issues to improve conduct an access to learning.

Career Mentors, providing guidance about options post secondary education.

SEND Mentors, supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.

Learning Mentors, providing academic support to help improve grades, motivation, and study skills.

Peer Mentors, providing mentoring to other young people.
Corporate Mentoring
Community Mentors, delivering youth mentoring in a community setting

Targeted Intervention Mentors, working with targeted students, i.e refugee or LGBTQ+ students.

Transition Mentors, guiding students moving into secondary school or changing schools.

Wellbeing Mentors, supporting student emotional health and mental wellbeing.

Workplace Mentors, supporting the development and performance of junior colleagues under 25 years old.
