This fast track training programme for those new to Youth Mentoring who want to make a difference in young people's lives using Youth Mentoring Tools and Techniques.

The Career Ready Youth Mentor Academy Level is perfect for New and aspiring volunteers, community workers, teaching assistants, care workers, youth club leaders, sports coaches, and anyone passionate about supporting young people's development.

To further enhance your knowledge and understanding of common barriers and issues young people face, trainees on the Youth Mentor Academy Career Ready programme will also complete the following additional self study training:

We offer optional career guidance and job application support as part of the Youth Mentor Academy Career Ready programme. 

Our goal is to equip trainees with the necessary training, knowledge and skills to secure employment and provide ongoing support once they are in the workplace. 

Additionally, our alumni are always welcome to rejoin future academy training sessions for continuous development.

You'll gain advanced knowledge in coordinating mentoring interventions and relationships, plus strategic thinking skills that establish your credibility as a practitioner in youth mentoring roles. You'll also develop your leadership skills via peer to peer learning, monitoring and evaluation, professional report writing, research gathering and supervisory responsibilities.

You'll learn and demonstrate advanced Youth Mentoring techniques and best practices through complex case studies. We will give you the opportunity to showcase your ability to guide other Youth Mentors in managing challenging relationships and barriers to progression. You'll build evidence of advanced practice skills.

Duration: 8 weeks
Days of the week: Wed or Sat
Times: Wed: 6pm - 7.30pm, Sat: 2pm - 5pm
Total Practical hours: 16

You'll deepen your knowledge in Youth Mentoring, risks and barriers to young people's progression. This self-directed learning prepares you for employment working with young people, gaining knowledge in Safeguarding Children and Young Adults, Mental Health Awareness, Trauma Informed Practices, Domestic Abuse, Criminal and Sexual Exploitation, FGM, and Forced Marriage Training.

Total Self Study hours: 20

Our dedicated support will help you transition into senior roles within youth mentoring and youth development organisations. You'll attend networking events and learn how to stay up to date with developments impacting youth mentoring. On completion of your course, you'll receive;
